There is never a good time to have to get the fire fighting pump from the shed, and to find it won’t start when you most need it can have serious consequences.
This is why regular servicing and maintenance is a must. You should always check you engine oil before you start your fire fighting pump. This means making sure it is at the correct level on the dipstick (e.g. full).
You need to service your pump every year in preparation of fire season, but don’t leave it too late. We recommend servicing your pump in Spring so you are well prepared. As these pumps sit for long periods without use they tend to have issues with fuel systems and condensation in the oil. Did you know that fuel goes stale in 30 days? Never use stale fuel in your fire fighting pump or other outdoor power equipment, or you’ll be in the workshop more than once a year. We can service and repair these faults and more.
