At Carr Mechanical Services, we have a great interest in the classics.

If your motorcycle is an old BSA, Velocette or anything that has a few years on its side, we are more then happy to service and maintain it for you.

We have an extensive knowledge of Lucas electrics, so if you are having electrical problems we are more than happy to look at it for you. We find you often need a soft touch and a gentle hand to produce the best with these older pieces of history. We also have an extensive range of tools to work on all thread types, so you are in safe hands.

One issue often found with older motorcycles is fuel. Due to them not being ridden on a regular basis, the fuel will become stale. The fuel eventually turns in to a lacquer consistency and blocks the orifices in the carburettor. The fuel will also destroy the rubber components in the carburettor as well. We suggest draining your fuel system completely or using a fuel stabiliser.

If you have let your fuel become stale we would recommend removing and stripping the carburettor(s) down. An ultrasonic clean to get to those hard to clean places before reassembling helps to make your motorcycle perform at its optimum.
